Frequently asked questions
What metadata gets removed?
For photos we strip EXIF data such as GPS location, camera model and timestamps. For PDFs we clear the title, author, creator, producer and keywords.
Why should I remove EXIF data?
Photos often embed the exact GPS coordinates and time they were taken. Removing that protects your privacy before you post or send them.
Does it change how the file looks?
No visible change — the image or PDF looks the same, it just no longer carries the hidden information.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The cleaning happens on your device, which is why it's safe for sensitive files.
